Journeyman or 4th Year Apprentice wanted
Description:
Loraas Disposal Services in Saskatoon is currently looking for an Apprentice or Journeyman Truck and Transport Mechanic/ Heavy Duty Technician. If you are looking for a great local company with challenging opportunities this position may be for you!
Duties:
-Responsible for ongoing maintenance & repair of a wide variety of equipment, both mobile & stationary.
-Hands on troubleshooting, repair, adjustment, overhaul, and maintenance of trucks and heavy equipment used in waste hauling, earth moving, and landfill operations, and commercial trash compaction equipment and balers.
-Dealing with breakdowns in the shop, on the road, at the landfill, and at customer sites.
Qualifications:
-4th Year Apprentice or above Truck and Transport or Heavy Duty Mechanic, with some background or experience with truck and trailer an asset.
-Full set of hand tools required.
-Wide experience in hydraulic and electrical systems is essential.
-Experience in electronic and pneumatic control systems, diagnostics on control systems hardware & software problems is a strong asset.
-Able to work in a team environment but capable of working independently.
-Minimum valid Class 5 driver's license with acceptable abstract required.
-As a condition of employment, all new employees to safety sensitive positions must successfully pass a substance test within a two week period of their hiring date. A criminal record check will also be required.
