Description

Role and Responsibilities:
- Building doors, frameworks and other wooden fixtures
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Drywall, painting, fit and install trim items, and other finishing works
- Use hand and power tools
- Measure, cut and assemble materials for construction
- Assembly of pre-fabricated steel buildings
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and commercial properties
- Supervise apprentices and other construction workers

Employment Terms: Permanent Full-Time

Wage Range:  $24.00 - $28.00/hour, depending on skills and experience

Skills and Experience Required:  
- Completion of secondary school
- Completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in carpentry
