Applications are invited for one or two tenure-track positions in Health Studies at the Assistant Professor rank, effective January 1, 2015. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Although the candidates will be housed within the Department of Psychology, they will be part of a new, interdisciplinary, specialization in Health Studies that is being developed by the College of Arts and Science. As such, applicants with a research program in any area of Health Studies will be considered. Candidates with strengths in quantitative and/or qualitative methods are preferred, but expertise in Aboriginal Health, Health Policy, Development, Research Methods, or any other area that forges links within the Department of Psychology will also be considered.
The successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate courses at both the senior and junior levels. Requirements for the position include a Ph.D. in Health Studies or related disciplines that will be complete by the time of appointment, along with evidence of teaching effectiveness. The successful candidate is expected to show evidence of being able to maintain a successful program of research that is eligible for Tri-Council funding.
Salary Bands (July 1, 2013 June 30, 2014): Assistant Professor $86,844 (floor) to $104,357 (CDI ceiling)
