The responsibility of the Millwright is to build and install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other specifications as presented by the operations and engineering departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, etc.
- Have an excellent understanding of blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Assemble, align, dismantle and position stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to specifications
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the assembly, installation, and repair of machinery.
- Test and provide constructive feedback on existing and newly manufactured industrial equipment
- Inspect/diagnose and repair malfunctioning machinery and equipment
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
- Work in an environment where the products and jobs are continually changing.
- Must have solid working knowledge of mechanical drives and assemblies
- Have an excellent understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Be a solid contributor and leader of a team
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Five years practical experience in the millwright trade.
- Journeypersons certificate from a recognized trade school.
- Successful candidate may need to work shift work and/or overtime
