Research Agronomist
Location: Saskatoon, SK
ICMS, Inc.  
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
-Conduct of assigned field research trials in one or more areas: evaluation of pesticide efficacy, nutrient/fertility, and/or crop variety trials.
-Layout, planting, maintenance and harvest of small plot research trials on a variety of cereal, oilseed, pulse and forage crops.
-Interaction with grower-cooperators required to locate experimental sites.
-Test item calculations and application, sample collection (crop/soil), trial documentation and equipment operation as per Standard Operating Procedures, data collection and statistical analysis
-Interpreting and meeting protocols, frequent communication of project status to clients and final report/notebook completion and submission.
-Collaboration with Research Technicians to conduct field research activities.
-Working in a team environment, he or she will report to the Regional Manager.
Qualifications:
-BSc. in agriculture or equivalent education and experience is required.
-Ideal applicants will have previous research experience in agriculture or an environment-related discipline. GLP experience would be highly valued. Previous summer employment experience in field research would be highly valued.
-Knowledge of seeding, spraying and harvesting equipment operation and maintenance, field trial design.
-Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge and experience in Canadian agriculture.
-The successful applicant must be willing to travel periodically and complete tasks requiring extended work hours when necessary.
-Computer literacy using an IBM-compatible PC in a Windows environment is required.
-Experience with Excel and Word are required, experience with ARM would be considered an asset.
-A valid driver's license is required.
-Must be eligible for membership in SIA.
