Description

Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the management, administration and delivery of all programs and services to ensure that the needs of Sakimay First Nations members are met in a consistent, effective and efficient manner.  Under the direct supervision of the Chief and with overall accountability to the Chief and Council, the Director of Operations will oversee all operations including: Governance & Citizenship; Advanced Education, Community Development & Enterprise; Culture, Youth, Family Services & Justice; Education & Early Childhood Development; Environment, Lands & Resources; Health & Social Development; Housing & Public Works; and Treasury Board.
Possess Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management Studies, Commerce, Indigenous Studies or any related discipline AND a minimum of three years continuous experience in an equivalent management position; or Certification in the field of project management, personnel management, financial management or administration AND a minimum of five years of experience in an equivalent management position.
Proficient knowledge in Financial management and generally accepted accounting practices and principles; Budgeting; Human resource management; Program management, delivery and evaluation and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, a high standard of professional conduct and work ethics.
Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call in case of emergencies
Submit pre-employment drug screen and criminal record check with vulnerability prior to commencement of employment.
