Trades and Industrial Job Coach Meadow Lake

The main goal of the Meadow Lake Industrial Career Centre is to connect participants to jobs and careers in the trades and industrial sectors. SIIT is seeking a person with direct trades and/or industrial experience for term employment.
Duties:
Assist skilled trade workers to find employment on trades and industrial worksites
Develop and maintain a working partnership with potential employers in Meadow Lake and the surrounding area
Refer participants to potential employers and/or training opportunities
Provide advice and motivation to participants regarding job placements
Maintain connection with project participants and assist in their development as industrial and construction trades workers
Work with employees and employers to bridge employment barriers
Qualifications:
Journeyperson certification in a trade is preferred. Consideration will be made for applicants with related technical post-secondary certification, plus extensive work experience in the construction and/or industrial sectors
Knowledge of construction activities and potential employment opportunities in the Meadow Lake region
Ability to speak knowledgably and confidently with job site lead hands, supervisors and project managers
Comfortable working in a small office
The ability to work independently within a team environment
Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle
Knowledge of a First Nations language or culture is an asset
