Description

Canadian Trade International (CTI) is a general contractor and building materials supplier with projects throughout Saskatchewan & Alberta consisting of a mix of new construction, renovations, build on site projects, seeking an experienced Construction General Manager.  

Requirements:
Residential and commercial construction experience
Responsible, organized, and thorough
Meets deadlines, Works well under pressure
Incorporates variance analysis into strategic management
Project management and estimating experience
Strategic Management skills (Planning, Financial, Analysis, Business development) are required
Experience in project management and in developing project plans, coordinate projects, communicate changes and progress, complete projects in time and budget, manage project team activities

Responsibilities Include:
Develop and operationalize strategies, long-range plans, annual operating plans, annual budgets, while measuring progress on an ongoing basis.
Undertake project management activities and supervise the team members
Provide leadership and strategic direction for the development of the project.
Take active part in Business Development; build new customer relationships
Be responsible for the  effective management of the projects
Ensure regular communication of business performance against objectives
Develop strong relationships and communication links with key stakeholders
Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Confer with contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments
Prepare cost and expenditure statements
Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures
Establish and maintain tendering process, and conduct negotiations
