Construction Instructor : Sought by North Central
Community Association for Transition to Trades
Program
Primary purpose
To oversee young multi cultural adults in North
Central Regina and assist them in their transition
into construction employment and trades by
maintaining positive relationships with
participants, holding then accountable for their
choices, demonstrating/instructing construction
through actual construction projects, and helping
them rise to a successful employment standard of
performance.
Duties
-Assert positive leadership role in team
environment
-Work with participants on developing knowledge,
skills/experience in construction
-Support students in mastering attendance,
attitude & work ethic
-Respectfully address participant
behavior/performance as needed
-Work in cooperation with other program staff
-Report to the Director all updates, progress and
concerns
-Portray a positive Image for the program /
community association
Qualifications
-Able to connect with multi-cultural young adults
(ages 18-30) in positive/supportive ways
-Patient, non-judgemental, flexible, & positive
attitude
-High moral standards and stability, positive role
model
-Effective communication and instruction skills
-Capable of resolving conflicts
-Presents as professional with students and
members of the community
-Excellent organization / time management skills
-Good physical stamina/ Able to present a standard
for students to aspire to
-Knowledge of worksite and power tool function &
safety
-Safety conscious on job site
-Practical knowledge of carpentry skills and a
variety of construction projects.
-Minimum of Grade 12, and/or post secondary
education or equivalent experience in the
construction field
-Class five drivers licence / Criminal record
check
