Summer Student JobSimpson Seeds Inc., a family-owned, Moose Jaw-based company, has grown to become the largest privately-owned specialty crop exporter in the province. With four locations and over 30 years of experience in the buying, processing and selling of specialty grains, our growing company now employs close to 100 people and exports to over 70 countries.
We are seeking applications from post-secondary students that are seeking full-time summer employment (Monday to Friday Days - May to August) at our Moose Jaw Farm Plant location (5 minutes east of Moose Jaw off Petrolia Road).
Working with Farm and Plant Managers, you will be responsible for performing daily duties with respect to the organization and cleanliness of the yard and facilities. You would be responsible for ensuring the yard is well-maintained. This would involve cutting grass, weed control, pruning trees and other general yard duties. If yard work is complete, you will assist our plant operations staff with grain handling and other general labourer duties.
Essential Skills:
Minimum of Grade 12
Previous experience in a general farm yard maintenance is required. A farming background is an asset.
An ability to use a mower, rototiller, chainsaw and other equipment.
A valid drivers license is required as this position is out of town.
The ability to work in a dusty and noisy work environment.
An ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 lbs.
Positive work ethic and demonstrated reliability and attendance record.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to work independently.
