Position will include day, evening and weekend work.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Preparation of high quality, tasty meals and presented to residents in a pleasant and appetizing appearance with attention to portion control.
- All dietary functions are performed in a clean, sanitary manner according to regulation
- Inspect food supplies and determine what quantities of food should be ordered, check incoming supplies storing perishables and non perishables.
- Clean cooking area and equipment, load, operate and empty dishwasher
- Very high standards expected in all of the above.
Qualifications:
- Two years experience in quality food preparation on therapeutic diets in a commercial kitchen
- The knowledge to be able to understand the proper food handling and storage procedures (Foodsafe Level 1 Certification)
- Have ability to speak, read, and write English, follow oral and written directions and do arithmetic calculations.
- Must be in good physical and mental health, able to concentrate in an environment of constant interruptions and change
- Employee must always display a consistent image of professionalism at work
