Qualifications: B.Sc. or B.S.A or its equivalent in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science or related Field
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the food safety/quality program. Duties include:
- product testing, both chemical and microbial
- record, interpret and report lab results
- develop and monitor food safety policies and procedures
- organize and maintain program documentation
- General laboratory maintenance and equipment calibration (NIR, Leco protein analyzer, pH meter, waterbath, autoclave)
- Research & development projects (applications of yellow pea fractions in human food, pet food and industrial products)
Job requirements:
- attention to detail
- good oral and written communications
- ability to multi-task and prioritize job duties without close supervision
- support company goals
- knowledge of HACCP/BRC or other food safety programs is an asset
- knowledge of Excel, Word and Power Point
