Description

Prairie West Terminal, located in Plenty, Saskatchewan, is seeking to fill the position of Agronomist within our Crop Inputs division for our Kinderley and Luseland locations

The successful candidate will be responsible for the Crop Inputs sales at our main facility and will possess an Agricultural-based University degree or diploma.  He or she will act as a source of information and assistance for both farmers and staff at our other four facilities.  The Agronomist will possess an orientation towards customer service and will be able to work well on a team environment as well as work independently, occasionally within deadlines.  As an Agronomist with Prairie West Terminal, you will be asked, on occasion, to speak at public events and must be comfortable doing so.

The position will combine a variety of office and field work.  During the summer months, the Agronomist will be field scouting and must be comfortable with crop staging and weed, disease and insect identification.    The Agronomist will be able to confidently assist farmers in selecting the right product for their desired needs, as well as making fertility recommendations and creating fertility packages for customers.  A strong knowledge and understanding of the products we carry is an asset; a desire to consistently learn is a requirement.

You must be willing to maintain qualifications and professional designations.

You will be provided the required safety training so that you may operate various pieces of equipment in accordance with implemented policies, as you may be required to load/unload inventory products.

Two years of providing agronomy recommendations is preferred.

PWT believes in a balanced work and home life as well as the opportunity for continual growth within our company. PWT will help provide training to ensure you have the skills needed to further your career.

A comprehensive salary and benefit package will be provided.
