Reporting to the Senior Surface Projects Technician, this position is responsible for the following
duties:
Responsibilities include:
Provide field support and surveying for miscellaneous earth-moving and construction related
activities on McClean
Lake Mine site as directed.
Complete topographic surveys, construction layouts and pickups
Process survey data and produce AutoCAD drawings
Perform engineering calculations for miscellaneous projects
Conduct or assist in special projects, reporting studies, designs and planning
Daily data management related to equipment operation, mill feed and general site operations
Record keeping of mine statistics & other field work
Reports to the Senior Surface Projects Technician
Skills and Qualifications for the position include:
Diploma or Degree in Surveying or Mine/Civil Engineering and/or equivalent education
1-3 Years previous survey experience in open pit mining or heavy civil projects
High working proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, etc.)
Candidate must be highly versatile and able to handle multiple projects and manage time
effectively
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong analytical and
problem solving abilities
Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil3D considered an asset
Experience with Surpac software is considered an asset
Experience with survey software is considered an asset
RSN candidate preferred
30-40% of time is field work
Able to work independently
Work Location & Schedule:
7 days on/7 days off
11 hour work days (one hour unpaid lunch)
Pick-Up Points: Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities
in the Athabasca region of Camsel Portage, Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac and Wollaston.
