Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services is now inviting applications for 1- Permanent Full Time, Emergency Response Coordinator to work in the community of La Ronge. The ideal candidate will report to the Community Services Manager and will be required to provide services to the Lac La Ronge Indian Band communities. This position is responsible for planning and preparing for emergencies that may arise in the LLRIB communities including but not limited to pandemics, evacuations, disasters, suicides, major accidents, etc.
Duties:
- Assist LLRIB Health Services and communities in preparing for emergencies and pandemics;
- Provide overall coordination of Health Services responsibilities during an emergency;
- Assist in building capacity to prevent and respond to emergency situations;
- Assist the LLRIB communities in evaluating their emergency response and management;
- Provide support to other Emergency programs;
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or designate;
Qualifications:
- Must have Instructor status for CPR/First Aid and First Responders; Other assets: Instructor Status for Snowmobile Safety, Boating Safety, Fire Arm Safety; Basic Emergency Course (BEM);
- Extensive experience in emergency/trauma situations;
- Experience in delivering and facilitating training programs;
- Excellent verbal and communication skills;
- Ability to speak/understand Cree is a definite asset;
- Must have a Valid Class 5 Driver's License and the ability to travel;
- Security Clearance: Current Criminal Record Check/Child Abuse Record Check and Driver's Abstract required upon hire;
