Description

Saskcan Pulse Trading, a division of Alliance Grain Traders Inc., is seeking a Supply Chain Supervisor to work with its transportation group.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, confident individual with an interest in the movement of staple foods from origin to end-use market and attention to detail of the steps to get it there.

Under the direction of the Director, Freight and Logistics, the successful applicant will:

Manages the coordination of activities of a section or department with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods, and employees.
Responsible for the evaluation of vendor reliability; manages the surveying of vendors to maintain adequate working relationship.
Prepares budgets and develops and administers vendor selection processes and programs.
Reviews and approves purchases up to a specified dollar amount.
Monitors the cost, schedule and performance aspects of major subcontracts.
Handles escalations from Logistics Coordinators
Assist in the execution and promote a profitable and competitive pulses export program
Using analytical and problem solving skills, will manage all aspects of the supply chain including rail, truckload, overseas and customs for shipments.
Assess risk and exercise exceptional judgment in decision-making
Utilize excellent communication skills to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal team members and external clients and customers

The successful candidate will have strong computer skills in Office, a degree in Commerce/Business Administration or Agriculture or a Business Diploma. Language skills are a benefit as well. A combination of education and experience will also be considered.
