Under the direct supervision of the Mistawasis First Nation Justice Coordinator the Justice Youth Worker will plan and implement a Youth Justice Program that is preventative, holistic and integrative with the existing community programs and services. The Justice Youth Worker will also provide community members involved with or requiring judicial processes with support and access to appropriate justice resources and measures.
Duties:
Adhere to the Personnel Policy as set out by the Mistawasis First Nation Chief and Council.
Maintain confidentiality, code of conduct, and oath of allegiance.
Provide support to the Mistawasis Advisory Committee in the planning, delivery and monitoring of the Community Justice Plan as it relates to youth matters.
Assist with the delivery of alternative measure services for youth.
Prepare monthly reports and calendars regarding the community Justice Plan as it relates to youth.
Attend court when required.
Coordinator for the Fine Option and Community Service Order Program.
Assist in the development of a yearly work plan with the Coordinator.
Qualifications:
Certified Youth Worker or related work experience
First Aid and CPR Certification
Must have a valid Saskatchewan drivers license and reliable vehicle and meet community insurance requirements;
Must be eligible to receive a current, original Canadian Criminal Record Check (CPIC) and Automated Child Abuse Record check ;
