Description

The goal of Community Addiction Prevention Program is to support the Mistawasis First Nation community in establishing and operating programs aimed at arresting and off-setting high levels of alcohol, drug, and solvent abuse among target populations living on-reserve. Most of the Community Addictions Prevention Program activities are included in the following four areas of emphasis: prevention and intervention, treatment, training, research and development.

Duties:

Networking:
will work towards establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with the Chief and Council, Health Administrators, Band program personnel, community-based human resources, and other community members to ensure efficient networking
Secondary Prevention:
Ensure the provision of counseling services to individuals, families and groups within the community
Treatment:
will ensure the facilitation of the clients treatment process
Follow-up:
will ensure follow-up rehabilitation services for the client(s) following release from treatment
Administrative Functions:
will be required to perform a variety of administrative functions

Qualifications:
Post-Secondary degree in human services discipline;
Equivalent Training/experience in Community Addictions Prevention Program
Qualified Life Skills Coach;
Family Systems Therapy;
Certification in Chemical Dependency;
Certified Gambling Addiction Counselor Training;
Assessment Skills;
To be living a lifestyle free of addictions for a period of two years;
To be able to provide supervision and leadership to co-workers;
Must have a valid Saskatchewan drivers license and reliable vehicle and meet community insurance requirements;
Must be eligible to receive a current, original Canadian Criminal Record Check (CPIC) and Automated Child Abuse Record check ;
Be able to work flexible hours (weekends or after hours)
