The Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technology has delivered the SIIT Process Operation Technician (POT) program in Meadow Lake for nearly ten years. The program covers 4th class power engineering and process operation-specific curriculum. SIIT will also be delivering a 4th class power engineering program in Regina starting in September, 2014. The 40 week program will have an enrolment of 20 students and will be delivered at the SIIT Regina Campus. SIIT is recruiting for 2 instructors for full-time employment.

Duties:
Under the supervision of the SIIT Trades and Industrial department:
    Teach courses in the 4th class program.
    Mentor students as they prepare for work in industry.
    Assist in program planning activities.

Qualifications:
    Minimum 3rd class power engineering certification.
    Work experience in the electrical generation, mining, or oil and gas sectors is an asset.
    Experience teaching adults, particularly First Nation adults is an asset.
    Good computer skills, including use of the internet, MS Office.
    Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    Well organized, ability to work independently within a team environment.
    Knowledge of a First Nation language or culture is an asset.

Dates:    Start early August, 2014. It is expected that this program will be delivered in Regina for several years.
