The George Gordon First Nation is seeking a highly motivated, mature individual with strong values and leadership skills. Under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Operations, the Housing Coordinator shall be responsible for administration and management of Section 95 and Band Housing Units. The successful candidate will be capable of independent decision making based on knowledge of Housing procedures and regulations. The primary function of this position is to ensure the Housing Dept operates efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Business Admin Diploma preferred; combination of education and experience will be considered
- Working knowledge of CMHC program
- Valid Class 5 Sk driver's licence
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and database programs
- Good organizational and effective oral & written communication skills
- Experience preparing financial budgets and reports
- Construction and knowledge of building a definite asset
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all housing programs, CMHC & Band Based Capital
- Coordinate & attend housing committee meetings
- Maintain & keep current housing database records, files & programs
- Monitor and review monthly Portfolio budget reports, written reports to Director of Operations, including recommendations for required corrective measures
- Work closely with technical and professional services to ensure quality
- Develop action plan to maximize employment opportunities for on-reserve contracts
- Understand and be knowledgeable of Band Based Housing programs, RRAP, Section 95, HASI and other proposal driven programs
- Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Director of Operations
