To provide operational management and leadership of the Dairy Cattle Research and Teaching Unit on the University Farm.Reporting to the Department Head, the Manager is a member of the senior management team directly responsible for managing operations and providing strategic direction for the Dairy Cattle Research and Teaching Unit, as it relates to academic and research programs.  The position requires close collaboration with faculty and research scientists, extension specialists and instructional staff. The Manager is a liaison between scientists and graduate students, and staff in regard to appropriate implementation of teaching and research in the Unit.  The Manager will liaise with other units both internal and external to the University:  Facilities Management Division, Purchasing Services; vendors for the purchase of feed, equipment, supplies, services and potentially, animals; various companies regarding animal sales, custom research services, and custom feed supplements for the dairy herd. The Manager may be required to facilitate outreach and engagement activities with the dairy industry.  This position has a high level of complexity and the Manager requires discretion, tact, professionalism and a commitment to continuous improvement.
