Description

AMECs Mining & Metals business unit currently has an exciting opportunity available for an Accountant, Payables. This is a part-time position located in our Saskatoon, SK office,  reporting to the Manager, Finance and Administration, and working alongside other team members locally.  If you have a successful track record and thrive on challenges in a fast pace environment, this opportunity is for you.

Responsibilities:
Processing payables documents including staff expense reports, vendor invoices, independent/agency contractor invoices, inter-company invoices, and cheque requests
Applying correct coding, verifying amounts claimed, ensuring compliance with contracts and corporate policies, and obtaining approvals
Ad hoc monitoring of payments to vendors, contractors, and staff
Preparing monthly Saskatchewan PST remittances
Maintaining all related filing systems in a complete and orderly manner
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous accounts payables experience in a project/consulting based environment would be considered an asset
Experience with accounting software is preferred and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required
Ability to complete a high volume of work efficiently and accurately
Exceptional organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and carry out tasks to meet deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
