Description

Duties and responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work in both areas
and under the direction of department specialists
to assist in the fabrication, adjustment and
repair of orthotic appliances, pedorthic products
and shoe raises to meet client requirements.  
Duties include:
-    Assist in the production and repair of
orthoses, custom foot orthotics and shoe
modifications to meet client needs and
prescription requirements.
-    Operate and use department equipment,
tools, materials and components for fabrication
and repair of appliances.
-    Develop knowledge of procedures,
inventory, components, supplies and materials used
in the field of orthopaedics.
-    Assist in the maintenance of appropriate
client file and department statistical, inventory
and caseload documentation.
-    Support production goals to ensure timely
customer service.

Qualifications:
Education:
-    Minimum Grade 12 with university entrance
requirements (maths, sciences) preferred.
Experience:
-    Operation of power and hand tools
including band saw, grinders, drills, sewing
machine, etc.
Skills:
-    Good hand skills and mechanical aptitude.
-    Basic knowledge of tools and
characteristics of materials used in a
manufacturing process with the ability to
fabricate a finished product following
instructions.
-    Effective interpersonal and communication
skills to work with a variety of people and serve
a diverse customer base.

satisfactory police record checks
