The MLTC Office of Education is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Practical Applied Arts (PAA) Supervisor. The PAA Supervisor is responsible for the PAA programs within the nine First Nations Schools in MLTC. The Supervisor is charged with the development and support of PAA programs as well as navigating the Apprenticeship routes in order for students to gain credit. This is a direct-support position to schools and staff.
DUTIES:
- Provide direction to PAA teachers within MLFN schools; recommend and facilitate professional development activities for the nine First Nations PAA teachers.
- Assisting school based administration and teachers in researching and implementing best practices in the delivery of PAA programs.
- Acquiring professional resources for MLTC Office of Education and for MLFN PAA programs as required and within budgetary parameters.
- Supporting the implementation of the approved curriculum, and quality instruction and assessment at all MLFN schools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidate must have a related Journey Person's Certificate; a Bachelor of Education degree (or working towards a Bachelor of Education degree).
- Excellent interpersonal, public relations, and written/verbal communication skills.
