Reporting to the Senior Director Global Sourcing, the Manager, Strategic Sourcing Canada is responsible for category management strategies for MRO and capital. He/she is an instrumental member of the Procurement leadership team focused on transforming to, and sustaining, a leading -practice, center-led global procurement organization. He/she will work closely with our sites to evaluate consolidation and standardization opportunities and establish strategic, multi-site vendor agreements that result in improved quality, service, cost and supply continuity. The role requires exceptional relationship-building abilities. Some travel is required.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 6-10 years of relevant, progressively responsible managerial experience in international strategic sourcing, category management and supply chain optimization, including 5 or more years with a large multinational organization in the resource sector. Demonstrated expertise in vendor negotiations, contract and supplier development/management and achievement of significant and sustainable cost savings is required. An MBA/Masters degree (or equivalent) from a recognized university and certifications in Supply Chain or Lean/Six Sigma are required. An undergraduate degree specializing in Business, Engineering (mining), Supply Chain or Operations Management is strongly preferred. Line experience/training with the sourcing practice of a major consulting firm preferred.
This is a full-time position, and eligible for a full benefit package including flexible medical, dental, and life insurance benefits, as well as retirement and incentive plans. Salary range is $123-$185k, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate may be required to undergo a background check.
