Description

The Team Manager - Environmental and Laundry Services is responsible for planning, organizing and directing all activities of the team to ensure effective and efficient provision of services to residents, CDP clients, staff, and visitors.  Duties are accomplished in keeping with the mission of Sherbrooke, Principles of Care, Organizational Principles and Principles of the Eden Alternative.

Main responsibilities include:  
- Work to create a human habitat for residents and reduce symbols of the institution.
- Lead a highly engaged team that is committed to the mission.  Manage staff through recruitment, orientation, education, goal setting, coaching, and discipline.
- Assess, monitor and manage expenditures within annual operational budget, capital needs for the service area, infection control practices, and outcomes of all processes for the purpose of establishing trends, best practice, risks, and the need for change (eg. utilization review).

Job Knowledge
-Microsoft Office applications.
-Laundry and cleaning processes and workflow methodology.
-Principles of Lean.
-Infection Control standards, fabric care, cleaning chemicals and equipment.
-Labour relations and union contract.
-Adult education principles.
-Principles of the Eden Alternative?.

Ability to:
-Teach, mentor, coach, support, and lead.
- Analyze data in order to identify trends, assess risks, and monitor utilization.
- Communicate effectively (both in writing and verbally).
- Work in a self-directed and independent manner.
- Be flexible and adaptable.
- Work in a busy environment.
- Maintain attention to detail.
- Work with elderly and disabled persons and develop relationships.

Have good physical and mental health.
Possess strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
-Must be a Certified Executive Housekeeper from a Canadian or Saskatchewan program.
-Registered Laundry and Linen Director or equivalent.
