The Prairie Lily Riverboat in Saskatoon is seeking an individual to train and ultimately operate the ship on the South Saskatchewan River through downtown Saskatoon from May to October.
The primary duties of this position, under the direction of the Ships Captain is to ready the ship for daily service and throughout cruises and to train with the Captain in the safe operation of the vessel along her designated course and return to dock. This position is intended to prepare an individual, over a summer, to understand the ships operation and equipment, specifically propulsion and power generation, with the goal to be examined for a Transport Canada ticket to act as the Ships First Mate. The Operator will receive significant and directed on the job training as a member of our crew in a team environment. It would be expected that the individual in this role would be available for future seasons of employment as First Mate. We have a friendly and inviting environment and welcome persons interested in sharing Saskatoon's view from the water with us.
