Description

The City of Prince Albert invites applications for the permanent position of Manager of Engineering Services. Reporting to the Director of Public Works the successful candidate will provide strategic planning for all capital projects and develop operational priorities based on an analysis of the current situation and determination of future requirements.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
-Plan project scope and budgets for all capital projects including tender specification and development.
-Develop policy standards regarding asset management for infrastructure.
-Review environmental and regulatory data for trending and provide reporting to ensure compliance with the Citys operating permits.
-Responsible for reporting the condition of surface and sub-surface assets including identifying trends and forecasting rehabilitation and reconstruction recommendations into the budgeting process.
-Establish priorities, schedules and funding levels for capital projects and obtain approval and funding from the Director of Public Works and/or City Council.
-Develop and implement technical projects related to regulatory, legal or specification matters.
-Analyze Public Works programs in the context of department objectives, mandates, and service deliverables, product studies and reviews, and implement or assist with the development of bylaws, policies and procedures that reflect Department goals.

Qualifications Include:
-Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
-P.Eng status with APEGS (Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Saskatchewan)
-5+ years progressive management experience in a municipal environment.
