Poultry disease pathogenesis, vaccinology and immunotherapeutic research program. The Department of Veterinary Pathology, Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM), University of Saskatchewan, Canada, is seeking applicants for a two-year postdoctoral research fellow position in the areas of pathogenesis of viral diseases of poultry, molecular biology and vaccinology.
Duties: Development of cellular and molecular biological assays, viral isolations from clinical specimens, sequencing, vaccine development and cell immortalization work associated with Reoviruses, Inclusion Body Hepatitis viruses and Infectious Bursal Disease viruses in poultry. Experience with manuscript preparations, research grant applications and ability to work in a team environment is expected.
Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include a PhD, preferably within last two years in one of the following areas: molecular virology, vaccinology, viral pathogenesis.
Conditions: The position is for two years with possibility of an extension. The suggested salary is $45,000 CDN. Candidates are required to present their research at national and international conferences in poultry medicine for which full financial support is available.
