Responsibilities (not limited to):
-Coordinates and supervises all construction
activities
-Directs all field personnel to achieve completion
of projects on schedule, within budget, and with
quality workmanship that conforms to original
plans and specifications
-Maintains construction schedule; identifies and
solves problems
-Orders materials and schedules inspections as
necessary
-Understands the project plans, specifications,
and company processes
-Maintains positive working relationships with
customers, clients, contractors, suppliers, sub-
trades, and employees
-Prepares, schedules, and supervises completion of
a final deficiency list
-Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work
practices, and rectifies job site hazards
immediately
-Ensures all company employees and contractors are
adhering to the company safety policy
-Maintains an organized job site, including the
construction office
-Manages and builds relationships with sub-
contractors
Qualifications
Education:
Red Seal Journeyman trades certificate with a
minimum 2 years of construction supervisory
experience; preferably some post-secondary
technical training (Civil Tech, Engineering,
etc.).
Skills:
-Fosters strong working relationships with diverse
groups of stakeholders
-Demonstrated mathematical, analytical, and
statistical knowledge
-Comprehensive knowledge of residential
construction industry practices, estimating,
applicable regulations, and OHS
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Proven ability to successfully manage heavy
workloads with multiple priorities
-Ability to work with a high degree of
independence and minimal supervision
Assets:
-Advanced knowledge of OHS best practices and LEED
Building Construction
-Advanced skills in Microsoft Office: Project,
Excel, and Word
-Familiarity with SAGE Timberline Estimating and
Job Costing software
