Responsibilities (not limited to):
-Plans, develops, monitors, and reports on project
schedules and contract costs
-Participating in client meetings, reviewing
project plans, and commenting on building design,
scheduling, possible cost savings measures,
adherence to standards, and potential problems
-Provides support to site activities and
supervisors through the planning, directing,
scheduling, and coordinating of company resources
-Manages work contract administration, including
change order management, dispute resolution,
contract review, obtaining building permits, and
deficiency correction
-Develops, tenders, awards, administrates,
manages, and builds relationships with
subcontractor services
-Coordinates projects to ensure adherence to
budget and schedule while maintaining a high level
of quality and excellence in safety performance
-Making, interpreting, and reviewing technical
drawings and detailed specifications
Qualifications
Education:
Post-Secondary technical training (Civil Tech,
Engineering, etc.) with a minimum 2 years of
construction estimating experience; preferably an
engineering degree with 2-4 years of experience in
residential construction.
Skills:
-Fosters strong working relationships with diverse
groups, including co-workers, clients, and other
professionals
-Demonstrated mathematical, analytical, and
statistical knowledge
-Comprehensive knowledge of residential
construction industry practices, estimating,
applicable regulations, and OHS
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Proven ability to successfully manage heavy
workloads with multiple priorities
-Ability to work with a high degree of
independence and minimal supervision
Assets:
-Advanced knowledge of OHS best practices and LEED
Building Construction
-Advanced skills in Microsoft Office: Project,
Excel, and Word
-Familiarity with SAGE Timberline Estimating and
Job Costing software
