Description

NorthStream is seeking an Operations Manager/Sr. Biologist based in Saskatoon.

Responsibilities:
-Staff supervision and training.
-Manage and conduct environmental assessments.
-Plan and conduct terrestrial and aquatic biological assessments.
-Technical report preparation and review.
-Conduct Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with established standards.
-Development of individual project cost estimates.
-Prepared to travel to project locations throughout Western Canada, as required.

Financial Management
-Participate in annual budgeting and planning process.  
-Maintain cost controls on a project by project basis.
-Managing sub-contracts.
-Assist with developing long-range financial plans.

Organizational Effectiveness
-Manage staff scheduling and project timelines.
-Provide input to improve time management systems.
-Provide QA/QC and conduct senior review on outgoing documents.

Risk Management
-Provide input toward the success of the Companys Risk Management Strategy.
-Oversee organizational insurance policies.

Qualifications
-Bachelor of Science or Masters Degree in Biology or similar Earth Science.
-5 years of experience as a Biologist with preference to a PBiol designation.
-Strong background and work experience in terrestrial and aquatic biology.
-GIS experience is considered an asset.
-Familiar with Western Canada approval processes as it applies to the Resource Industry.
-Demonstrated leadership.
-Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
-Budget development and oversight experience.
-A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
