PARKS/ENGINEERING WORKER

Applications are invited for a number of casual positions of Parks/Engineering Worker in the Community Services, Public Works and Financial Services Departments.

General Duties:
-Perform a variety of tasks in a wide variety of construction, maintenance and repair operations.
-Perform a variety of pick and shovel work such as digging, shovelling gravel, asphalt and sand.
-May assist with pesticide application, arena operations, and asphalt work.
-Load and unload material and perform both light and heavy manual labouring tasks.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:
-Grade 12 or equivalent.
-Driver's License.
-Previous experience with a variety of construction, maintenance and repair operations.
-Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
-Ability to perform light and/or heavy manual labouring tasks.
-Ability to operate small hand tools and motorized equipment efficiently.
-Training in WHMIS and Surveying experience would be an asset.


CLASSIFICATION:    Parks/Engineering Worker
        $13.16 per hour
