Loraas Disposal Services Ltd. located in Saskatoon is looking for a motivated individual to fill the position of Heavy Duty Mechanic. If you are looking for a challenge this position may be for you!
Duties:
- Responsible for ongoing maintenance & repair of equipment, both mobile & stationary
- Hands on troubleshooting, repair, adjustment, overhaul, and maintenance of trucks and heavy equipment used in waste hauling, earth moving, and landfill operations, and commercial trash compaction equipment and balers.
- Dealing with breakdowns in the shop, on the road, at the landfill, and at customer sites
Qualifications:
- 3rd or 4th year Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Apprentice or Journeyman, some background or experience with heavy equipment/truck transport an asset
- Full set of tools required
- Wide experience in hydraulic and electrical systems is essential
- Expertise in electronic and pneumatic control systems, diagnostics on control systems hardware & software problems
- Basic understanding of industrial high-voltage electrical wiring, and ability to do global diagnostics on belt lines, feed mechanisms, materials handling and processing equipment, compactors and balers
- Electrical qualifications would be a significant asset
- Team environment but capable of working independently
- Minimum valid Class 5 driver's license with acceptable abstract required
