Job Summary:
Working within a small multidisciplinary team, the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Occupational Therapist will provide professional leadership in the development and delivery of clinical services, evaluation, and consultation provided by the ASD Program. The incumbent will deliver these services through a combination of direct service, community resource development and education to children, youth and their families throughout the process of diagnosis of ASD and during the implementation of subsequent interventions.
Hours of Work: Field hours - 224.00 hours per 6 week rotation
Experience:
Training in assessment and treatment models appropriate to those affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnoses is desired. Clinical experience with a pediatric population is desired. Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnoses is desired.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Society of Occupational Therapists
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability and willingness to travel and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends as required
- Ability to communication with and maintain an effective working relationship with clients from diverse social, economic and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, independent judgment and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as a meber of a multi-disciplinary
- Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office word processing and spreadsheets, e-mail and Internet
