Description

The Rural Municipality of Mervin No. 499 is a progressive and rapidly growing Municipality, presently seeking a self motivated and qualified individual to manage the Municipalities road network as Municipal Foreman.

The Municipal Foreman reports to Council and the Administrator and is responsible for the effective management, administration and delivery of all municipal works programs and services of the Municipality.

Qualifications

- Experience in construction equipment operation and maintenance is required
- Minimum of a Class 5 drivers license is required
- Previous experience as a Foreman or Supervisor is a definite asset
- Road building experience and ability to read grade stakes is an asset
- Must possess or be able to obtain Heavy Equipment Operator Certification and Power Mobile Equipment Training Certification
- Ability to obtain Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater Collection Class 1 from the Operator Certification Board
- Ability to obtain First Aid Certification

The successful applicant will possess excellent organizational and public relations skills and will be responsible for supervising the public works staff as well as ensuring all operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner. The applicant will work closely with the public works staff and have the opportunity to be mentored with the existing Municipal Foreman until his pending retirement.
