Description

Facility:  Weyburn General Hospital

Hours of work:  In a 4 week rotation: 8 shifts of 11.78 hours (days, nights, weekends)

* This position works in both Emergency Room (Nurse B) and ICU (Nurse A)

Job Summary:
This position is responsible to coordinate the activities of the Nursing Department and to provide direct patient care as required.  The Nurse II (In-Scope Supervisor) has immediate responsibilities within the Emergency Department but is also responsible to collaborate with the other nursing units to provide direction and assist with activities as necessary.  The Nurse II is responsible to direct the activities of the facility in the absence of other managers/supervisors.  This position functions according to the policies of the District and the Nursing Department.

Required Qualifications:
- Advanced Cardian Life Support (ACLS)
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions
- Ability to competently use computers and software applications as required by the position
- Ability to make decisions, which must include coordination of staffing, and/or patient care, and/or coordination of equipment
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice
- Organizational skills
