We currently have a leadership opportunity for a Project Engineer, Balance of Plant. Reporting to the Area Lead on a Major Mining project, this position is located in our Saskatoon, Saskatchewan office. This role has responsibility for the effective planning and supervision of design activities within a Major Greenfield mining project. Responsibilities
Assisting the Area Manager and Engineering Manager with the definition of the scope of engineering services to be provided
Preparing studies, designs and detailed engineering for mining projects
Compiling construction contract packages
Directs and coordinates the activities of the multi discipline engineering team for the Area and supervises engineering activities at the Lead Engineer level
Monitoring engineering, procurement, and/or construction progress
Chairing project meetings and ensuring that schedules are progressing
Reviewing cost control forecasts (engineering cost, capital costs) and managing documentation and data
Participating in quality assurance audits
Qualifications
6 years engineering or operations experience focusing on heavy industrial projects including at least 2 years in a project engineering role
Professional Affiliation (P. Eng) in the Province of Saskatchewan or eligible to register with the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
Strong track record of successful project completion
