Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Integrated Health Services, the Director of Laboratory Services provides leadership and management within urban and rural laboratory services in Prairie North Health Region. The successful candidate will be responsible for the general supervision and administration of laboratory services including quality assurance, financial, budget preparation, human resources management, and project management. The Director will also be responsible for providing the technical/managerial/education support for the laboratories across the Region. This position influences the success of organization-wide process improvement activities throughout the Laboratory departments across the Region. The incumbent will work closely with a team of Directors in Prairie North as well as Laboratory counterparts across the province. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with leaders, physicians and staff in PNHR and will demonstrate ability to be a change agent, particularly in implementing the future provincial directions that will be established by the 3sHealth Medical Laboratory Services business case.

QUALIFICATION:

-Must be a member of the Saskatchewan Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists, Alberta Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists and the Canadian Society of Laboratory Technologists
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital laboratory environment
-5 years of recent experience in a management position preferred
-Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of general laboratory theory and practice, and apply these skills in clinical and managerial situations

Incumbent will be strongly encouraged to participate in Lean Leader Certification, which will provide the training needed to develop leadership capabilities and commitment to the culture of patient-centered care and innovation.
