The Yellow Quill First Nation Health and Social Development (HSD) is hiring a Home Care Nurse (HC-RN). The HC-RN will work as a member of the Health and Social Development Staff Team to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with policies and procedures set out by Chief and Council of the Yellow Quill First Nation. The HC-RN will be responsible in planning and implementing community Home Care programs that are preventative, holistic and integrated. The HC-RN will also contribute to our Health Care Teams goal to provide integrated and holistic community health programs under direction from the Health Manager.
Job Overview:
Under clinical nursing supervision and utilizing health promotion, teaching, and practical nursing assessment and treatment skills:
1.Assessment, planning, and care for community home care clients
2.Development and implementation of home care programs
3.Implement nursing interventions
4.Assist in work outcome reviews and program evaluations
5.Confer with other health care team members as necessary
6.Document and communicate client data as per protocol
7.Direct supervision of HCC support staff
8.Complete funding agents reporting requirements
Qualifications:
-Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing in a SRNA
-Should have two three years of related Practical Nursing experience
-Knowledgeable of home care programs and home care policies and issues
-Strong advocacy skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Current CPR , AED, and First Aid Certificates
-Valid Drivers License and reliable vehicle
-CPIC (Canadian Criminal Records Check) will be required upon successful job offer.
-Working knowledge of First Nations customs, traditions, and values is an asset
