Description

**Please note that this position is located in, and employed by, the Yellow Quill First Nation**

Reporting directly to the Health Program Manager, and working in cooperation with the STC Community Addictions Program Coordinator, the Wellness Worker is responsible for carrying out the duties as outlined herein.

DUTIES
1.Adhere to the Personnel Policy Manual as set out by the Yellow Quill First Nation Chief and Council;
2.Maintain strict confidentiality at all times;
3.Must understand, support and participate in the community enhancement initiatives in working towards the vision of Yellow Quill First Nation which improves the quality of life;
4.Co-ordinate and provide pre-treatment and assessment services;
5.Provide individual or group counselling as needed or as referred;
6.Provide follow-up and aftercare services;
7.Maintain up to date and completed client files;

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Chemical Addiction Dependency Diploma/Certificate or equivalent training.
2.Youth counselling certificate (i.e. SIIT Youth Certificate in Counselling) and/or experience would be considered an asset.
3.Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) training and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) certification would be considered an asset.
4.Minimum of three years experience in the addictions field or another related field.
5.Minimum of three years of continuous sobriety.
6.Experience with individual, family and group counseling.
7.Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
8.Experience with program planning and development.
9.Possess a valid Saskatchewan drivers license, access to a reliable vehicle and meet the community insurance requirements.
10.Must have a clear current CPIC (Canadian Criminal Records Check), which identifies a vulnerable sectors check.
