MACSI is an affiliate of the Metis Nation - Saskatchewan and is a non-profit corporation providing alcohol and drug recovery services and counselling programs to Saskatchewan residents.
The Field Educator is the 'front line' community contact, and is responsible for counselling clients in their community setting, relating to all aspects of prevention, assessment and treatment referral and after-care services.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Counselling, Chemical Dependency (SIAST, SIIT) Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in addictions, social or health treatment services;
Must have two (2) years continuous sobriety/abstinence;
Basic knowledge of counselling theory, human behaviour, alcohol, drugs and solvents;
Proven abilities in supervising clients, conducting motivational assessment plans and referring client to appropriate addiction services;
Experience in one or more of the following is an asset: recreation, culture, nutrition, youth, life skills and / or community development;
Certification in St. Johns First Aid Course;
Must possess a valid drivers license, and;
Must provide a current CPIC Security Clearance.
Excellent communication, interpersonal relation skills, writing skills & computer skills
