Description

Home Club is Moose Jaw based but, coaching/training will be done in Moose Jaw and Regina rinks and travel throught Saskatchewan is required for attending competitions.

Job Description:
Instruct athletes in CanSkate, Rising Stars, Junior Academy, Synchro, STARSkate and Competitive Skate programs.
Plan, develop and implement edge classes, stroking classes and off-ice classes. Off-ice classes to consist of jump technique, positioning, flexibility, strength and conditioning
Identify talented athletes and assist with progressions into required programs
Plan athlete competitive schedules
Motivate and prepare athletes for competitive events
Analyze and evaluate athletes performances and modify training programs as necessary
Plan, complete and submit yearly plans for competitive athletes
Provide progress reports and communicate with parents and guardians of athletes
Assist with planning and organizing an annual ice show
Be enthusiastic and positive and follow the Skate Canada Coaches Code of Ethics
Be willing to work in a team environment and work directly with a team of coaches and a volunteer board to ensure accurate organization and delivery of all programs
Additional responsibilities include proper training techniques, developing individualized training schedules and long term athlete development
Hours of work inclulde days, evenings and weekends. Flexible schedule

Qualifications:
Minimum NCCP Level 1 Certificated and have a current CEP status with willingness and ability to attain ISPC
Certification and Level 3 as well as maintain CEP status
Pairs Experience required
Experience at a national and/or international level either as a coach or a competitor
Superior interpersonal, organizational, leadership, coaching and technical skills required
Gold/Senior level free skate or equivalent a must
Synchro, choreography and/or show experience is a definite asset
CanPowerSkate Certification an asset (or willing to attain)
Skate sharpening experience
First Aid/CPR
Police Check
