Our EFAP Counsellors are responsible for providing short-term counselling to individuals, couples, and families, presenting with a wide array of personal, family, and work-related issues. They assess clients, jointly set collaborative goals and establish strategies for success. The EFAP Counsellor offers service excellence and clinical quality, while supporting and contributing to an environment of Continuous Improvement.
**This is a "blended position" in that the selected Counsellor would take on primarily "In Person" cases but also see clients utilizing our Video and Tele Counselling modalities**
Succeeding as an EFAP Counsellor will require the following core qualifications and skills:
Successful completion of a Masters degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or Education (Counselling focus)
Minimum five (5) years post-graduate counselling experience ideally working with diverse populations and presenting issues
Superior knowledge of short-term counselling is enhanced by previous experience in EAP (Employee Assistance Program) Counselling, or similar environments.
Professional Association Membership or registration with a recognized Mental Health Association is required
Strong goal setting, case management abilities and knowledge of community resources are desired
Ability to clinically manage high-risk crises, including clients who are a threat to self or others
Knowledge and comfort using PC Software products is required
Exceptional customer focus with strong professional acumen and ethical approach
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Dedicated team player, who demonstrates initiative and independence
Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fast-paced environment
