Reporting directly to the Health Program Manager, the Medical Transportation Coordinator is responsible for carrying out the duties as outlined herein.
Duties
Adhere to the Personnel Policy Manual as set out by the Yellow Quill First Nation Chief and Council;
Adhere to the Yellow Quill First Nation Medical Transportation and FNIHB NIHB Medical Transportation Policy Framework;
Book and confirm medical appointments;
Arrange, coordinate and approve Medical Transportation and accommodation/meals as per policy;
Supervise the Medical Transportation Drivers and maintain accurate records of any personnel matters as appropriate;
Ensure up-to-date copies of the Medical Transportation Drivers licenses are on file;
Ensure copies of the Medical Transportation Vehicle registrations and insurance are on file;
Ensure all Medical Transportation Vehicle are licensed according to SGI regulations;
Prepare and maintain a filing system for all documentation such as letters, reports, forms, travel warrants, Medical Transportation data, etc;
Ensure all Medical Transportation Drivers fill out incident reports for all unusual occurrences as per policy;
Schedule appointments for servicing and maintenance of Medical Transportation Vehicle
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Grade 12 and/or equivalent.
Completion of a diploma in administration preferred.
Ability to speak the Saulteaux, an effective understanding of. Saulteaux culture and spirituality, and experience working with First Nations communities is preferred.
Must have a clear current CPIC (Canadian Criminal Records Check), which identifies a vulnerable sectors check.
Must have a valid Saskatchewan drivers license and/or Class 4 and access to a reliable vehicle.
Act as a Medical Transportation Driver if necessary and as qualified.
