Description

The Home Health Aides (HHA) role is to provide personal care, home management and respite assistance to clients based on assessed needs. The HHA encourages clients to be as independent as possible. Personal care provided by the HHA will be assigned and supervised by a HCC RN.  Home management and respite assistance provided by the HHA will be assigned and supervised by a HCC RN or designated individual.
The HHAs duties include:
1.Adhere to the Personnel Policy Manual as set out by the Yellow Quill First Nation Chief and Council;
2.Maintain strict confidentiality at all times;
3.Must understand, support and participate in the community enhancement initiatives in working towards the vision of Yellow Quill First Nation which improves the quality of life;
4.Provide personal care, home management and respite care;
5.Performing in a confidential and accountable manner;
Home Management tasks;
Personal Care tasks;
Respite Assistance tasks;
Reassurance tasks;
Other duties as assigned by the HCC Nurse (RN) or the Health Program Manager within the scope of practice.

Qualifications:
1.Must be a graduate from an accredited training program.
2.Must have a demonstrated ability to work with others.
3.Must maintain a valid Saskatchewan drivers license, have access to a reliable vehicle and meet the communitys insurance requirements.
4.Should have a telephone.
5.The ability to speak Saulteaux, an effective understanding of Saulteaux culture and spirituality, and experience working with First Nations communities is preferred.
6.Must have a demonstrated ability to accept direction/supervision.
7.Must be able to provide care for others.
8.Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
9.Must have oral and written communication skills.
10.Computer skills are an asset.
11.Must have a clear current CPIC (Canadian Criminal Records Check), which identifies a vulnerable sectors check.
