Description

George Gordon First Nation is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, career minded individual for the Director of Operations position.  We require a positive, team-oriented manager to set and meet goals and to ensure every member of the team is delivering in accordance with the high standards of our Nation's goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Bachelor degree in business or related field required - combination of education and experience will be considered
- Minimum five years managerial/supervisory experience required
- Excellent organizational, strategic planning and implementation skills
- Proven skills to interact effectively with employees in order to direct work flow, assess performance and assign duties
- Ability to assign and delegate work, problem solve, answer questions, and evaluate results of performance
- Working knowledge of employment, human rights and labour law
- Computer literacy including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe products and email
- Knowledge of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada and CFA funding arrangements
- Excellent management writing and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and accounting procedures involving procurement, travel and budget management

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Human resource management, policy development, and procedure implementation
- Development of quarterly reports
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements for third party suppliers and/or service providers
- Coordinate departmental programs such as meetings, seminars, workshops, special projects and events
- Prepare and assist in the annual band audit
- Other duties as assigned
