Description

Under the direction of the Health Program Manager with clinical supervision provided by Saskatoon Tribal Council Program Coordinator, the Maternal Child Health Home Visitor/ LPN will work collaboratively with community staff to improve the health and social outcomes for pregnant women and families with infants and young children.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1.Adhere to the Community Personnel Policy as set out by the Yellow Quill First Nation Chief and Council;
2.Maintain strict confidentiality at all times;
3.Must understand, support and participate in the community enhancement initiatives in working towards the vision of Yellow Quill First Nation which improves the quality of life;
4.Cultural skills and awareness;
5.Efficiently and effectively carry out administrative duties;
6.Maternal Child Health home visiting;
7.Licensed Practical Nurse role;
8.Carry out general responsibilities.
Qualifications:
1.Currently registered and in good standing with SALPN.
2.CPR-C and First Aid certificate, AED an asset.
3.Case management skills, client assessment skills, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
4.Ability to work well in a team setting and independently with a holistic approach.
5.Valid Saskatchewan drivers license, access to a reliable vehicle and meet the communitys insurance requirements.
6.Must have a clear current CPIC (Canadian Criminal Records Check) which identifies a vulnerable sectors check.
7.The ability to speak Saulteaux, an effective understanding of Saulteaux culture and spirituality, and experience working with First Nations communities is preferred.
