The Kinistin Saulteaux Nation is seeking an enthusiastic, committed individual to fill the position of Post-Secondary Education/Labour Force Development Coordinator and Executive Assistance to Chief and Council.
The Post-Secondary Education and Labour Force Development programs contribute to the development of First Nations self-governance and economic self-reliance.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
-Working with post-secondary institutions and students to ensure that all KSN Post-Secondary students are successful in their higher education.
-Development, monitoring and implementation of budgets for tuition, books and student living allowances and bills are paid accordingly and on time for tuition, books and living allowances.
-Working and collaborating with Saskatoon Tribal Council Labour Force Development program to access additional funding for summer student employment programs, training programs and employment counselling.
-Monitors student academic progresses
-Prepares proposals for community development (e.g. National Child Benefit Reinvestment Program, Canada Summer Jobs, Dakota Dunes Community Development Corporation, Saskatoon Tribal Council Labour Force Development Program Proposal Calls, Health Canada)
-Assist community members with their annual income tax returns.
Other Duties assigned:
-Takes minutes for Chief and Council meetings, ensures Chief and Councils travel and accommodations are booked and submitted if needed.
Qualifications:
-Post-Secondary Diploma or some Post-Secondary education experiences.
-Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills
-Reliable and punctual.
-Excellent communication, organization and written skills.
-Strong proposal writing skills
-Excellent computer skills
-Must have reliable transportation and provide a copy of Class 5 Drivers license
