Description

Prairie East Veterinary Clinic is seeking a full or part time career minded individual with a positive attitude to fill the role of veterinary assistant.  In this role you will act as an assistant to the veterinarians and the veterinary technicians.  
In addition to a passion for animals the successful candidate must be well organized, possess the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, and maintain customer confidentiality.  A positive, professional attitude is an absolute necessity.  This position requires an individual who is courteous and helpful, enjoys working with people and enjoys a lot of variety in their workday.
    This position provides general support to the veterinary clinic.  Duties include, but are not limited to: restraining animals for procedures performed by technicians and doctors, care of boarding and hospitalized animals including cage cleaning, exercise, feeding and observation for signs of illness, sterilization of laboratory and surgical equipment, administration of medication orally or topically, preparation of samples for laboratory examination under a veterinarians or veterinary technicians supervision, laundry, general cleaning and disinfection of cages and public and employee areas, and unstocking, labeling and stocking of hospital supplies.
